Balenciaga Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli has taken up a legacy of innovating footwear, debuting several hybrid designs within his first collections for the House.
These include the intrepid Jet Sneaker, debuted on both men and women within the Fall 26 Collection reveal, Body and Being.
The Jet Sneaker’s dynamic design builds upon a streamlined, multi-layer sole, drawing from athletic archetypes to effect high performance as well as the deconstructed codes of Couture forms. It reimagines the modern runner with exposed stitching and raw edges—as if an idea in process.
An interior information label is prominently displayed on the external side of tongue, completely inverting a sneaker standard. An elastic lacing system that weaves over the upper allows for effortless, slip-on wear and an inside-out or corseted aesthetic.
Balenciaga’s new Bodies logo, an exclusive Jet logo, and each shoe’s size are debossed and printed on the upper: a mélange of overlapping mesh and smooth textures, some of which are recycled polyester panels, marked with gradient graphic work, pre-distressed in places.
The shoe’s substantial, organic silhouette recalls earlier Balenciaga sneaker designs and ever-advancing sport technology, with attention to traction, aerodynamism, and balance: a comfortable yet elevated approach to sophisticated footwear.
The Balenciaga Jet Sneaker comes in men’s and women’s size monochrome black, eggshell, or brown gradations; in a men’s size greyscale with blue accents or eggshell with lime accents, and in a women’s size eggshell with pink accents or pastel: light blue, lilac, and lime.
