On November 19th, 2024, following the debut of the Balenciaga Apple Vision Pro application on July 16, 2024, Balenciaga has launched an update for the app, introducing features that redefine how users experience the House’s collections through the Apple Vision Pro—a wearable, immersive computer powered by visionOS, an operating system navigated via eyes, hands, and voice. The update includes new videos, lookbooks, and 3D content offering an unprecedented level of immersion.
A newly developed video player, custom-built for Balenciaga, presents optimized spatial video footage from the Summer 25, 53rd Couture, and Spring 25 collections. Leveraging Apple Vision Pro’s spatial computing, 180-degree footage envelops users, making them feel as though they’re seated at a Balenciaga show. Captured with specialized cameras and advanced post-processing, the footage provides a truly immersive viewing experience. The update also includes a 3D lookbook of the Summer 25 collection, utilizing spatial imaging to give each look visual depth, surpassing the flatness of traditional 2D lookbook images.
The update integrates new spatial audio features that enhance the viewing experience of the Summer 25, 53rd Couture, and Spring 25 shows. Balenciaga’s signature soundtracks are delivered through dual-driver audio pods with ambient audio integration, creating a layered auditory environment that translates the impact the soundtracks have on guests in the show space.
A new Accessories tab allows users to interact with select pieces from the Summer 25 collection that have been rendered for spatial gestures, allowing users to manipulate detailed 3D versions of products, starting with the Nano Top Handle Bag, Basketball Sneaker, and 360 Mask Sunglasses.
In the 53rd Couture section, a newly added “10 Avenue George V” tour provides a guided tour of Balenciaga’s couture salon in Paris, complete with narration and optional subtitles in English and Chinese, allowing global audiences to experience the heritage of the House.
This update underscores Balenciaga’s commitment to digital innovation, deepening its engagement with audiences, and providing new avenues for exploring the House’s creative universe. The Balenciaga | Apple Vision Pro app will continue to evolve, with new content and interactive features.
